2026 Ins & Outs
Last Updated January 16, 2026
I’ve had a few weeks now to reflect on what I will be leaving in 2025, and what habits I will either be carrying over or starting in the new year. Below is a list I created with brief descriptions of what is in in 2026, and what is out!
Out:
1. Paying for polyester
I will continue to door bust the Brandy Melville on Atlantic Ave for my 100% cotton basics. No shame.
2. E books
My eyes cannot take it anymore
3. Protein
I’m no dietitian, but I think we should just stick to chicken instead of protein cold foam
4. Marketing emails
Please do not notify me that sale items are an additional 10% off today.
In all seriousness, I do understand why companies send these. It’s just that if I wanted to keep a clean inbox, this would require me to hire a full-time assistant.
5. Subscriptions
I just want to be able to use my parents Netflix account
6. Uber Eats
Exception: BOGO Rice Kitchen platters.
Ins:
1. Thrifting
Thrifting has always been in, but I like to reiterate this every year.
2. Crafting (Duh)
Just read my last post
3. Tangible memory recording
Children need the experience of looking through their parent’s photo albums and scrapbooks
4. Writing thank you cards & mailing invitations
Thank you cards & hand mailed invitations are becoming a lost art
5. Loafers
I’d like to see more female loafer-wearers. Generally a very comfortable work shoe.
6. Sling TV
Sling TV is the best platform to watch sports on, especially if you are only watching once or twice a week. You can purchase a day pass for $4.99. Much better than paying $100+ for YouTube TV.
7. Pinterest
Pinterest has always been in, but again I like to reiterate this one each year.
8. Flash Cards
I started using paper flashcards this past semester, and I definitely saw improvement in my memorization. Also, a great way to study without a screen.
